Multimodal Ferry Building

The project reimagined ferry terminals as multi-modal hubs connecting maritime, pedestrian, and land-based transit. Guided by the WETA 2040 Service Vision Plan, the Integrated Studio challenged students to develop designs that addressed technical, contextual, and programmatic demands through collaboration and innovation. The building featured two envelopes: an ETFE shell open to the atmosphere and a concrete enclosure that provided interior environmental control.

Heat Resiliency Center

The studio focuses on addressing heat risk and energy insecurity in Phoenix, Arizona, by reimagining cooling centers as resilience hubs that support vulnerable communities. Through a thermal stratification strategy, students develop site-specific designs, culturally informed programs, and sustainable design frameworks to foster collective comfort and climate resilience.

Decentralized Workplace

This thesis examined the transformation of workplace design within the context of a digitized, decentralized economy. It focused on model workplaces as key nodes disrupting traditional corporate structures, highlighting their frequent misalignment with organizational branding and insufficient digital infrastructure. Through a dual approach of architectural redesign and strategic repositioning, the project reimagined satellite offices as integral elements that enhance workplace democracy and mobility.

Urban Food Factory

The studio investigates the integration of food systems into urban environments by designing a hypothetical melbourne food institute factory. Challenging the historical separation of food production and consumption, students explore architectural strategies that make food infrastructure visible and accessible within inner Melbourne suburbs. Through site-specific interventions, culturally informed programs, and sustainable frameworks, the project reimagines food spaces as integral to community life, reinforcing local identity and ecological responsibility.
